Objectives: The purpose of this study is to identify factors influencing intention to complete advanced directives (AD) among college students by applying the planned behavior theory.
Method: A cross-sectional descriptive study design was used. The participants were 255 college students majoring in health administration in two cities in Korea. Collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA test, and multiple regression analysis with SPSS 26.0 program.
Results: The mean score of intention to complete AD was 3.47¡¾.75 on a 5 point scale. The predictors of intention to complete AD are perceived behavioral control (¥â=0.270, p<0.001) and attitude toward AD(¥â=0.261, p<0.001).
Conclusion: Among the variables of planned behavior theory, positive attitude toward AD and perceived behavioral control
can predict intentions of AD completion in college students.
